The Maharaj Sawan Singh Charitable Hospital is a 199-bed hospital located on thirty-five acres of land, situated on the Grand Trunk Road, midway between Amritsar and Jalandhar. The hospital was commissioned on 24th January 1986. It is managed by Maharaj Jagat Singh Medical Relief Society.

The hospital was set up primarily to meet the needs of the rural population in the vicinity of Beas, where adequate medical facilities were not available. Even for common ailments, people had to travel to Jalandhar or Amritsar. Medical care in these large cities was becoming more and more expensive and generally beyond the means of the poor. Services are provided to those living within a 25-kilometre radius of Beas, in 661 villages and towns with a total estimated population of about 1.5 million people. The hospital has a team of over 50 doctors of various specialties and over 125 nursing and 50 medical staff. A committed team of 422 administrative and support personnel are also available.
